A high-growth company in the financial services sector is seeking a strategic and hands-on Controller to lead its accounting function. This is a pivotal role, overseeing financial reporting, compliance, and operational efficiencies while partnering with executive leadership on business strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Leadership & Compliance
  • Oversee all aspects of accounting operations, including financial reporting, reconciliations, and controls.
  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes in compliance with GAAP.
  • Manage tax, audit, and compliance processes, serving as the primary liaison with external auditors.
• Operational & Strategic Oversight
  • Develop and refine financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to support scalability and efficiency.
  • Partner with leadership to provide financial insights that drive business decisions.
  • Identify opportunities to automate and streamline processes for improved accuracy and productivity.
• Team Development & Leadership
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CPA certification is a plus.
• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in accounting, including leadership roles managing teams.
• Deep knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and financial software for reporting and analysis.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, with a track record of optimizing financial processes and implementing automation.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence cross-functional teams.
• Experience working in dynamic, high-growth environments where adaptability and strategic thinking are essential.
